Random run

I was feeling inspired on Saturday to run in the sand; however I quickly realized my legs did not think that was such a great idea.
I eventually found a path of more solid ground, but then I found myself on a fairway.
Right about here is where I rolled my right ankle (not too bad, nothing like Kyle's in January!)

Although my ankle was feeling OK at this point, I decided to just walk home and enjoy the scenery.

Spring in the Deen

These pictures are from the River Don/Seaton Park area. The colors around the city are just beautiful these days...

BBQ!

We had a glorious day last week with our friends the Greens. I met Kelli at their place for an extended lunch (they live about a block from the university), and we had a BBQ! This is only our second BBQ since we've had in Scotland, and were incredibly excited that it was one of the most beautiful days thus far. We were able to eat outside, which doesn't happen all that often, so it was a great break from the office and a good time to hang out and talk.

Here is a pic of their oldest, Ethan, who was checking out the neighbor's dog. The dog literally sat there for about 15 minutes while Chris cooked, raising his head to sniff the air every now and again.

We weren't short on meat. I can't tell you the last time I had steak on a grill. MMMMM....steak. There is just something about BBQ'd meat isn't there? We even had Doritos which is an added treat since Kelli never buys me any.

It is incredible how hard it can be to connect with people now that Kelli and I get up in the morning and go off in two different directions. She had the day off because of one of Scotland's many gratuitous bank holidays, and I am always looking for an excuse not to work! The Greens are from Bakersfield where Kelli is from, and where a lot of BBQ'ing is done year round, so it was fun to get together with them as a Bakersfield Embassy in Scotland. Now if only we had Dewar's...

Castle Fraser

Today was a perfect day for a castle adventure. Lots of sunshine and daffodils.

Great tea and coffee...however, Kyle would have preferred a mug!

Always fun to explore...

Lots of laughs with good company.
